General Programs
When a student takes the general program, the student only needs to obtain the credits for the existing bachelor graduation requirements. However, in the case of professional programs, the students shall meet the completion requirements of accreditation education, which have been established separately. In case a student could not meet the completion requirements, the department may put off the student's graduation according to Article 33 of Detailed enforcement regulations of Statutes of Kwangwoon University. In short, the professional program(Engineering Accreditation Program) od Kwangwoon University is not based on the individual accreditation system, but the program accreditation system(guarantee for meeting the accreditation requirements of all graduates who belong to the program), so that the students who belong to the professional program can graduate only when they meet the completion requirements of accreditation. Accordingly, all the students of Department of Electronics & Communications Engineering must select one of the programs that they want to complete, among general and professional programs, through an interview with academic advisor.

When freshmen who have selected the professional program start school, they are educated in the professional program. However, if there is a situational change at the end of the 1st semester of first year(joining ROTC or taking courses in teacher education) and the student needs to change the program, it may be changed into the general program after counseling. At the end of the 2nd semester of 2nd year(after completion of 4 semesters), the students need to choose his own educational course(or degree course) that they have to keep until graduation. And also, in order to get flexibility in operation, the students will be provided with on more chance to apply for a change in program at the beginning of the 1st semester of 3rd year(reflecting the student's choice during the vacation). And then, the transfer between programs are not available.

Professional Programs
The professional program (Engineering Accreditation Program) is a 'Voluntarily cyclic-type educational system'. In this educational system, the professors, students and the school authority, which are the main agents of education, are making efforts to construct a system that can accelerate the continuous quality improvement(CQI). And the system focuses on the evaluation of curriculum at every semester and school year, so that it may be improved. In such a system, the students will be able to improve the qualification as an engineer with professionalism and well-rounded abilities through quality education as time passes by. And the professors make efforts to provide better education, so that the education will be gradually improved.
